NASA about to announce it has discovered flowing water on Mars?

A lot of us looking at the Mars photos and features will not fall out of our chairs if it is water BUT it will be a major discovery.

NASA is set to release details of a major scientific finding on Monday and speculation points towards signs of flowing water on Mars

So far, the American space agency hasn’t revealed any other details other than the finding is related to its ongoing exploration of Mars.

NASA has also revealed who will be attending the briefing, leading to speculation as to what the announcement might be.

Along with Jim Green, NASA’s director of planetary science and Michael Meyer, lead scientist for the Mars Exploration Program, Lujendra Ojha of the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta will also be attending.

Ojha is a PhD student who, as an undergraduate, discovered evidence of potential flows of salt water on Mars.

As Inverse.com suggests, his presence at Monday’s event suggests that there could be further news on this - and if there’s water on Mars, that means there’s the potential for life on the red planet.
The announcement will be broadcast live on Monday 28 September on NASA TV at 2pm UK time.
