Rendlesham Forest: The Halt Perspective

John Hanson who, along with Dawn Holloway, is behind The Haunted Skies UK UFO history books, tells me that he is currently working on a book in cooperation with Colonel Halt looking at the Rendlesham Forest Incident from the Colonel's perspective.

If you are unfamiliar with the case you can check out Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rendlesham_Forest_incident

Below is the planned cover to the book.

Another UK Paranormal TV Show NOT To Be Made -maybe I should try Europe?

Right, I have to report that the latest company that wanted to do a series on anomalous observational phenomena -sea creatures, UFOs, ghosts, etc., have dropped the ball.

I was told that it would be serious, skeptical but if something was unsolved it would be called so. Great.  But now I'm told the whole thing needs re-thinking.  Sound effects added to make things spooky and various visual effects.

FAKING.

I said "no" and was told without myself and my files "it just can't go ahead".  But the insistence was that "We need to be more sensationalist like other paranormal TV shows to draw people in" -what I was promised it would NOT be.

So "Pursuing The Strange & Weird" will not be made -I just got the email.

Any serious production companies are still welcome to get in touch.

Public Vote Could Result In Exoplanet Being Named ‘Neil’ After First Man on Moon

Uh, "Neil"....well, it ain't Pluto, Jupiter or Saturn but why not "Colin" (no idea why!)?
https://uk.news.yahoo.com/public-vote-could-result-exoplanet-145718691.html#MhmvmP8

Voting to name a series of planets and stars outside of our solar system has been opened up to the public for the very first time, and one of them could be named after first man on the moon Neil Armstrong.

The International Astronomical Union (IAU) - the body responsible for such things - has launched the NameExoWorlds contest in which the public can have their say on the names of 32 exoplanets and 15 of their host stars.

The exoplanet 51 Pegasi b is in with a good chance of being named after Apollo 11 Commander Neil Armstrong, meaning that it could end up with the rather Earthly name of ‘Neil’.

Discovered in 1995, the historic exoplanet was the first to be spotted orbiting around a sun-like star.
The planet’s star, 51 Pegasi, includes ‘Apollonis’ in its lineup of possible names.

The shortlist was concocted from a wide selection of names submitted to the IAU by astronomy clubs all over the world, before being pared down for the public vote.

The rules ban the use of names of living people or those that are protected by copyright.

Many of the names suggested are nods to sci-fi authors, with other contenders including ‘Life’, astronomer ‘Copernicus’, and the entirely implausible ‘Rock ‘n’ Roll Star’, and ‘Vegetarian’.

As pointed out by New Scientist, a large number of the suggested names are Japanese, no doubt because around a third of the autonomy clubs signed up to the IAU are from Japan.

Chinese Two-Headed Cobra

Back in the 1970s I looked into reports of a two-headed snake found near Rome, Italy.  I discovered that two-headed snakes are not ultra-rare but do make headlines!

And fighting with each other -or showing aggression toward one another- makes you realise HOW independent each is of the other...while...being the "other" as well.  My head hurts.

It may well be that inbreeding is a cause here since the person who found it was a snake-breeder and many snakes are bred for consumption in China so there is a need for a constant supply. Snake soup, friend snake -in 2014 a chef died after being bitten by a cobra he was intending on cooking -the kicker here is that the cobra head bit him 20 minutes after decapitation (reminds me of that old movie line from Walter Brennan -"Wuz you ever stung by a dead bee?").

My sympathies lie with the snakes.

A Chinese snake breeder recently made a rather unexpected discovery: a two-headed baby Chinese cobra, both with individual, fully-functioning brains.

So far the unique animal is yet to eat or drink water on its own and is currently being cared for at Nanning Zoo. An official from the Zoo told Discovery that the snake is pencil thin with a brown backside, and is currently 20 centimeters long.

Both halves move independently of each other and have even displayed aggressive behavior and posturing toward one another. Nanning Zoo noted that the two heads will often come together as if to fight.

If the snake does begin to eat and drink naturally, it’s possible that it could grow to its full length of 1.2 meters.

If it eats and drinks at least this snake(s) future is safer as a zoo exhibit.

Did you miss this? Golden jackals - wolves?

A new study has been released which shows that Africa's golden jackals are a type of wolf.

Reports had been circulating over the past few years, so scientists from the Smithsonian decided to put the theories to the test. By studying mitochondrial DNA, the scientists were able to show that African golden jackals were a different species to the similar Eurasian golden jackal and that they were in fact descended from wolves - the split having taken place around 1.3 million years ago.

The finding means that there are now 36 species of canid in the world.

Facebook are trying to remove it -The UFO Photo That...well...

There is an image being shared on Face Book along with this message:

Mark OConnell
"This photo was taken in Australia, get it out there as Facebook are trying to remove it."

Do I need to point out that this is a reflection of a light fitting?  Look to the left of the lightning strike and you'll see another indoor refection.  Also, it's like being poked in the eye -the position of the 'UFO' and the boat below, no water surface reflection, the fact that the said 'UFO' is MUCH closer to the camera.

It's like going back 40 years to "UFO Photo 101"!

Also "Facebook are trying to remove it" is  a sheer and utter nonsense.  Anyone who has used FB knows they WANT to delete something they DO with one click of a button.

I'm hoping that this was intended as a lame joke because if FB is now going to be inundated with fake images/video like You Tube -I'm out!!
