The Messenger of Deception, Jacques Vallee has said repeatedly that if UFOs are extraterrestrial it would be "very boring". Yet, in the last few years he's been grifting a piece of metal from a UFO which he claims is not from Earth.

My guess is that like others in Ufology to become celebrities and earn money, dear old Jumping Jacques hops to whichever current trend will make him money. He is certainly a very poor UFO researcher who still pushes cases known as hoaxes in the 1960s.
