New Book ~It Takes A LOT Of Work And Is Full Of Surprises
It has taken around two months to supplement the details I have in my Close Encounters of the Third Kind (CE3K) and Alien Entity files. "Why?" you might ask. I'll tell you.
Above: The "High Strangeness" Cases file.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
I have selected specific case histories that I have classed as High Strangeness. As in "outside the norm" of everyday experiences. They are cases that, in some cases, have taken a battering from debunkers masking as "skeptics" ~a skeptic looks at all the facts with an open mind and without prejudice or preconceived viewpoint. A debunker simply ignores many facts that are inconvenient to their viewpoint, such as original accounts or even looking at investigation case reports and speaking to those involved. The "It was an owl!" brigade.
Even so, I looked at what some of them had written and found that their pet theories and explanations only worked if you ignored the known, reported facts. It is probably for this reason that debunkers try to make their attacks on the people involved and any little thing they can find out and gods help the witness who was once fined for littering when he dropped a bubble gum wrapper in his teens! I found that this was a very common factor amongst debunkers. They could not explain so twist or forget a few facts and make personal attacks.
Attacks against people who were professionally qualified ~doctors, etc~ are made as though these were just "UFO or abductee worshippers" ~the loony fringe. The allegation that Ufologists all worshipped at the feet of abductees is typically misleading especially when the Ufologist involved was skeptical of a case in question.
So I found nothing new in these 'skeptical investigations' and actually noted in my desk book that the debunkers seemed to be the loony fringe.
I then had to dig around and, as always, look to original reports or accounts because so many writers cribbed from one another that they had to make "little changes" to appear original but in doing so altered the actual report. Personality clashes between investigators/groups did not help but there was far more bitching going on than reporting on cases. I could go on but I'll leave it at that.
So it took the usual route of going back and looking at original accounts and investigations.
Above: Purple folder the High Strangeness cases file and Blue the back up notes ~bulky!
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
I then got a surprise. There were cases I chose that I wanted to use to demonstrate how mistakes and so on led to reports being called and accepted as classics when they were far from such. Looking at the original material in these cases things back~fired on me. Take away all the erroneous 'facts' and...well, the cases began to stand up to scrutiny.
Something else became very evident about the percipients in the cases, too. In one case after another this one factor struck me (no, you'll have to wait for the book).
But then I had to formulate and tighten up my viewpoint and theory regarding the Grey Alien Syndrome and the work of abduction researchers. This combined with what I found out looking at the High Strangeness cases led me to formulate guidelines on how to proceed in the investigation of these cases.
To be honest, Ufology as a whole has screwed things up. Despite all of the talk about being "scientific" and "conducting investigations like police do a case" and all the classification of UFO sightings and so much more Ufologists just tended to pick and choose which case they would look at. A multiple witness UFO landing on a US highway that involved an entity was ignored. Despite calls for it to be looked into. But a light in the sky was enough for two or more investigators to rush to. There were only two possible explanations for this neglect and neither should make Ufology proud.
And there was far more that needed to be gathered, written into a form that the layman could understand (this was very important because the purpose is to get the point across and not have people constantly Googling terms, etc.) then edit it all down and still be clear.
I have no doubt that the book will make me quite a few enemies amongst Ufologists and will certainly do so amongst debunkers. That has never bothered me before because I cite and give full references and stick to what is known. There can only be one agenda and that is to look for factual evidence and present it even if I have to agree with someone I personally despise ~this is not about personalities.
Whether I'll stick to the preliminary title of "From Beyond Time And Space" or not I have no idea but I am aiming to complete the work and get it published by January, 2018. That schedule is dependent on a number of things since I have to find more mundane work to earn a living! Books, I have found, do not make you money.

NOT Just The Weird Stuff Makes Good Documentary Material!
Steve asked if I had thought about any "non weird stuff" that might make documentary material?
Yes. I did some work with BBCs Natural History Unit, though they were mainly interested in UK "big cats". However, I broached the idea of looking at some of the things covered in the Canid book (Red Paper 1) as Girt Dog of Ennerdale, Badminton Vampiric Beast and others also gave the opportunity for "re~enactment" of scenes.
They really wanted to go with large cats, though, due to several people there ~including a producer~ having had experiences and some not too far away from Bristol where the unit is based.
Still, plenty of material in the Canids book so....
The old cover for a change!

Follow-up to Some Things Strange & Sinister. For those interested in Ufology, cryptozoology, hominology, unusual natural history, ghosts and mysteries in general. The secret history of gorillas in the UK -before they were officially 'discovered'.
The history of the Wild men of Europe, the UK and US: something that in the 1800s become very "pop culture" Very pop culture and totally forgotten today! Hominology. Sasquatch and Bigfoot -is there evidence for their existence?
No sitting on the fence here -the Patterson-Gimlin film is looked at as well as other evidence. The Author's conclusions?
You might be surprised. Giant snakes. Amazons. The Giant serpent of Carthage. The Girt Dog of Ennerdale -another big cult 'creature' amongst paranormal and cryptozoological circles. The Beast of Gevaudan -what was it and were there really descendents of the creature in the 19th century -one of which was actually brought to London? Believe it or not more than one incident of historical crocodiles cases in the UK. In fact, far more than even the Author had thought . And, after more than a century of claims by 'researchers' that it no longer exists: The Silent City of Alaska and the near legendary 'lost' photograph taken of it.
This and much more. Updated with extra pages and photographs.

The terror and mystery created by “Jack The Ripper” has been the subject of countless books, magazine articles as well as movies and TV documentaries. Ask anyone if they have ever heard of Jack The Ripper and it is doubtful anyone would respond with a “no idea.”
By that same token, ask people who “Spring-heeled Jack” was and you would be lucky to find anyone who had ever heard of him.
Spring-heeled Jack was the subject (loosely) of a film The Curse of the Wraydons (1946) and Dominic Keating also appeared as Spring Heeled Jack in the 2010 film Sherlock Holmes by The Asylum film company. The character has also featured in both American and British comic books and a number of books, for both children and adults.
But the fact that the Springald held the country –not just London– in a grip of terror much longer that the Ripper did is all but forgotten except for some half-truths and fanciful theories.
Now be prepared to read the full story of Spring Heeled Jack

And Speaking Of Canids...
One for those interested in Wildlife .....or cryptozoology!

The Red Paper: Canids

By the 1700s the British fox was on the verge of extinction and about to follow the bear and wolf having been hunted for sport for centuries.
The answer was to import thousands of foxes per year for sport. But foxes kept dying out so jackals were tried. Some were caught, some escaped. Even wolves and coyote were released for hunting and "country folk" were very far from "happy" -some even threatening local hunts -one intending to release a wolf for a hunt- with legal and other consequences.
The summation of over 40 years research by the noted naturalist and former UK police forces exotic wildlife consultant reveals the damnable lie of "pest control" hunting but also reveals the cruelty the animals were subject to and how private menageries as well as travelling shows. Private menageries, or single exotic "pets" as well as travelling shows helped provide the British and Irish countryside with some incredible events such as the 1905 "vampiric" sheep killer of Badminton, the mystery hounds of Cavan and Coyotes of Epping Forest.
The Girt Dog of Ennerdale is also dealt with in detail -was it a tiger? A Tasmania Thylacine? This book gives the exact facts and details for the first time. Up-dated 2013 edition includes a section on sarcoptic mange in foxes and treatment plus a list of wildlife sanctuaries and rescue centres in the UK.
Fox and Hybrid Study (UK) Continuation
I first began watching foxes and then looking at mystery canids in the UK around 1976. Naturalists as a whole were not that interested in studying foxes ~and the UK universities and colleges have no biology departments studying wildlife ("It just ain't sexy and there is no money in it!").
Things have changed a little but there are too many prejudices involved and you just must not rock the boat these days....yes, that money thing again.
However, I intend to continue the work begun back then for as long as I am breathing and not wait 40 odd years before publishing research ~as with The Red Paper: Canids.
Initially the idea was to find someone at a lab who could analyze DNA to identify origins of foxes in the UK, and if you have not read my book that ought to confuse you. However, not many people willing to do these tests for free because they are expensive and time consuming as I discovered when we worked with a laboratory on analyzing samples allegedly from large cats.
The most basic form of survey would be on fox types. There used to be noticeable differences in the appearances of foxes ~Hill foxes, Valley foxes, terrier foxes and so on. People on fox groups seem to be like people visiting blogs ~look then go. I am hoping this appeal will break that bad streak (please!).
I have come across problems when I did a brief badger study as well as when I was looking at exotic fauna in the UK. People are very ~very~ protective of the animals in question. There is no argument with that on my part but I will make it clear: This work has absolutely nothing to do and no connections with hunting or trapping of any kind. This work is intended to add to our knowledge of the fox in the United Kingdom only. That is GUARANTEED.
All I need are decent photographs of any foxes that visit where you live. If you know the vixen from the dog fox, great and that's basically it. I'll need info such as:
1) Town/City and County (information is welcome from England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland *
That is the basic information but please, if you can answer or add more it all helps. So, additional:
2) How long have the foxes been in your area or visiting?
3) If you feed them what are you putting out for them?
4) Have the foxes ever had mange in your area? **
5) Have you seen young or noticed the foxes pairing up?
6) Do you only see the foxes in the evening/night or also during the day?
If you send a photo please ensure there is permission for me to use it. I may not but if I do anything that may identify the exact location WILL be removed. Animal safety is the priority.
The other aspect of the study is to look at unusual fox colouration. My files have records on black as well as white foxes. It would be interesting to find out whether any unusual colouration has been noted in the foxes in your area? The photo(s) may sort that out but worth mentioning.
Any photographs and information should be sent to:
blacktowercg@hotmail.com
Please identify your email is concerned with the study by adding "H&FS" in the subject bar.
And THANK YOU in advance for your cooperation!
* In any notes or texts no exact address nor identification of contributors is made except when crediting the person supplying the photo/information (in print initials or pseudonym can be used)
**If you notice mange in the foxes you see or any injuries I urge you to contact the National Fox Welfare Society who do great work in helping and treating injured and sick foxes and is a charity.
