Strange Phenomena In Germany....
Hello. I notice that there are a lot -a lot- of views from Germany. Up until the mid 1990s I used to be in contact with German UFO and strange phenomena investigators -CENAP, etc..
However, looking at the internet I can find no credible investigators or groups looking at Cryptozoology and other phenomena in Germany. In fact, in the late 1990s I was contacted by German police regarding Big Cat sightings there -possibly via my work with UK police forces.
But I would like to know what is happening now -paranormal, creature sightings, UFOs but my Germain is not great at the moment so I'm having to get back into using it. So, if you know of German groups or have links PLEASE let me know!
THANKS

REAL Poltergeist Activity captured in Irish Home!! Must watch!!
I was sent a link to this. I was asked (again!) "What do you think?"
I think hoax. Nice soundtrack for atmosphere don't you think? Also, notice that big fridge-freezer? Big enough to hide someone. Notice how the broom(?) handle by the sofa falls in that direction. The kitchen pan moves in that direction. The cupboard door moves in that direction while the room light sways about and at one point it is patently angled and giving all the signs of having string or wire attached.
The moving high brightness light bulb distracts from any obvious fraud that might be otherwise noted easily. And the camera is always held so that it catches the movement on cue, bad panning technique to again distract. That red washing basket?
Check it out because it does not even look like it is flat on the ground. This object is, uh, "pushed" toward the camera holder. Now I may be playing my cards close to my chest there so as to hide what I really think.
Hoax.

NASA about to announce it has discovered flowing water on Mars?
A lot of us looking at the Mars photos and features will not fall out of our chairs if it is water BUT it will be a major discovery.
NASA is set to release details of a major scientific finding on Monday and speculation points towards signs of flowing water on Mars
So far, the American space agency hasn’t revealed any other details other than the finding is related to its ongoing exploration of Mars.
NASA has also revealed who will be attending the briefing, leading to speculation as to what the announcement might be.
Along with Jim Green, NASA’s director of planetary science and Michael Meyer, lead scientist for the Mars Exploration Program, Lujendra Ojha of the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta will also be attending.
Ojha is a PhD student who, as an undergraduate, discovered evidence of potential flows of salt water on Mars.
As Inverse.com suggests, his presence at Monday’s event suggests that there could be further news on this - and if there’s water on Mars, that means there’s the potential for life on the red planet.
The announcement will be broadcast live on Monday 28 September on NASA TV at 2pm UK time.

A70 Abduction in 2007
I have been trying to locate James Smith who had an unusual encounter in 2007 on the A70. I was briefly in touch with him then nothing. If you read this and are or know James please get in touch.
I was also asked whether I would be interested in accounts of UFOs, creatures or anything strange and weird from people who find this blog?
YES! Is the very short response to that one. It is one of the reasons I set up the blog as well as Anomalous Observational Phenomena Face Book page. Feel free to contact me.
Man struck by lightning twice -Or WAS He?
Someone sent me this video and said it was "amazing!" As soon as the video started I was thinking "something is off here" and the fact that I don't see wet pavements was one thing. When the man gets struck by 'lightning' that did it for me.
I just said "fake" out loud!
You see, in both 'strikes' the lightning looked the same and if you have ever seen or been in a storm you will know what I mean by the lighting being very "off" -I mean the shadows of the vehicles and trees.
So I thought to myself that someone on the internet must -must- have taken a look at this video. And it took a while (yes, I know, I should have checked You Tube straight away) but, yes, I found a video by sddtraining which picked up on the main points.
Quite seriously, it is okay for a little fun but adding "just for fun" but You Tube should be re-named "You Hoaxer" and one day genuine UFO or Bigfoot or even unknown sea creature footage is going to be uploaded and totally ignored.

Top Ten All Time AOP Blog Posts
Right, I decided to check and see the top ten AOP Blog postings of all time.
Seriously? With all the items I've posted the most views are for my critique of the Ghost Adventure TV series??
So, if I put "Ghost Adventures" at the beginning of every post title I'll get more hits? Don't get me wrong, I am very happy people view this blog -even though I would love some serious comments rather than spammers or trollers- but I have posted some, what I thought, would be thought provoking items. No wonder no one here buys my books!
Hey -I am NOT saying Ghost Adventures is mentioned in any of my books, but you never know.

These Books Will Give You Knowledge -Fully Referenced Knowledge!
The Strange, The Weird, The Terrifying...
Ever the Popularist, I decided that, as some people have asked, I would
give more detail about the contents of my books so here goes.
Alleged piece of crashed UFO from Berwyn Mountains, Wales.
For those interested in Ufology, cryptozoology, hominology, unusual natural history, ghosts and mysteries in general.
The secret history of gorillas in the UK -before they were officially 'discovered'. The history of the Wild men of Europe, the UK and US: something that in the 1800s become very "pop culture" Very pop culture and totally forgotten today!
Hominology. Sasquatch and Bigfoot -is there evidence for their existence? No sitting on the fence here -the Patterson-Gimlin film is looked at as well as other evidence. The Author's conclusions? You might be surprised.
Giant snakes. Amazons. The Giant serpent of Carthage. The Girt Dog of Ennerdale -another big cult 'creature' amongst paranormal and cryptozoological circles. The Beast of Gevaudan -what was it and were there really descendents of the creature in the 19th century -one of which was actually brought to London?
Believe it or not more than one incident of historical crocodiles cases in the UK. In fact, far more than even the Author had thought .
And, after more than a century of claims by 'researchers' that it no longer exists: The Silent City of Alaska and the near legendary 'lost' photograph taken of it.
This and much more. Updated with extra pages and photographs.
The terror and mystery created by “Jack The Ripper” has been the
subject of countless books, magazine articles as well as movies and TV
documentaries. Ask anyone if they have ever heard of Jack The Ripper
and it is doubtful anyone would respond with a “no idea.”
By that same token, ask people who “Spring-heeled Jack” was and you would be lucky to find anyone who had ever heard of him.
Spring-heeled Jack was the subject (loosely) of a film The Curse of the Wraydons (1946) and Dominic Keating also appeared as Spring Heeled Jack in the 2010 film Sherlock Holmes by The Asylum film company. The character has also featured in both American and British comic books and a number of books, for both children and adults.
But the fact that the Springald held the country –not just London– in a grip of terror much longer that the Ripper did is all but forgotten except for some half-truths and fanciful theories.
Now be prepared to read the full story of Spring Heeled Jack

kill a Sasquatch: is it necessary to kill an individual of what might be a rare
relic population of hominids?
The Texas Bigfoot Research Conservancy Has Blood
On Its Hands 117
The TBRC has now claimed to
have shot and wounded Sasquatch creatures.
The Bigfoot community is up in arms that an organisation set up to
research and conserve these creatures is apparently turning to the gun to
“scientifically prove” the Sasquatch is real by producing a body.
On Gathering Hard
evidence 122
Rather than kill a Sasquatch
or any other unknown creature is there an alternative to prove they exist? The
simple answer is “yes”.
The Patterson-Gimlin
Film 129
Filmed in 1967, the brief
footage of “Patty” was shaky and split the scientific community in two
regarding its authenticity. With the
film now digitally cleaned, image steadied and modern scientific techniques
used to analyse it why is it getting harder to believe it is a hoax?

Brontosaurus –and what happened to Stevens?
First Ever UFO Photograph Or

Two Early French Entity Cases

Did Masse encounter a landed
flying saucer in 1965 and see two entities? And why did he vow never to reveal
what happened during the encounter –taking the secret to his grave? And what of Dewilde in 1954 –was he paralysed

By the 1700s the British fox was on the verge of extinction and about to follow the bear and wolf having been hunted for sport for centuries.
The answer was to import
thousands of foxes per year for sport. From Norway, Finland and even as far afield as Russia foxes were imported. Even into the 20th century foxes were being imported into the UK for hunting -why if the "pest" had been nearly eliminated?- and capturing of Irish foxes and selling them to UK fox hunts even resulted in questions in Parliament!
But foxes kept dying out so jackals were tried.
Some were caught, some escaped. Some became infamous -The Jackal of Sevenoaks, The Worcester Jackal -the magazines and newspapers of the day even reported on these hunts -accompanied by illustrations.
Even wolves and
coyote were released for hunting.
In Devon the plan to release one wolf for a hunt had to be abandoned after an outcry from farmers and locals. Far from today's myth, country people were far from "friends of the hunt".
Once and for good the Girt Dog of Ennerdale is explained -was it an escaped tiger? A thylacine or.....
The "Mystery Canids of Cavan", the Coyotes of Epping Forest and much, much more -with illustrations, maps and photographs.
The summation of over 30 years research reveals the damnable lie of
"pest control" hunting but also reveals the cruelty the animals were
subject to and how private menageries as well as travelling shows helped
provide the British and Irish countryside with some incredible events.
Paranormal TV -Debby and Mark Constantino Dead
It was no great secret in paranormal circles that the couple were "troubled" but I'll say no more. Just sad.
And, yes, Deadline Hollywood were obviously big fans -it was Ghost Adventures not Ghost Hunters.
Self styled paranormal investigators Mark and Debby Constantino,
and a third still-unidentified man, were killed yesterday in Sparks,
Nevada after a domestic violence incident turned deadly. The
Constantinos billed themselves as electronic voice phenomenon (EVP)
experts and made frequent appearances on reality shows about the
supernatural, most notably in a recurring basis on Travel Channel’s Ghost Adventures.
The couple were estranged, and Debby Constantino had been living with two roommates. According to Nevada’s KTVN, at approximately 8:00 AM Tuesday, the police were called to Debby Constantino’s apartment after one of her roommates found their male roommate dead, and Debby missing. Police eventually discovered that she was being held hostage by Mark Constantino in an apartment belonging to one of the couple’s adult children. Attempts at negotiating Mark Constantino’s surrender failed, and around 1:30 PM a S.W.A.T. team breached the apartment door and found both people deaad.
KVTN also reports that the Constantinos have recently had numerous runs-in with local law enforcement due to complaints of domestic violence. Most recently, in August Mark Constantino was charged with kidnapping, domestic battery by strangulation, and domestic battery against Debby, following an incident in which their daughter was also charged as an accomplice.

Grisly Discovery: 9,000-Year-Old Decapitated Skull Covered in Amputated Hands
By Charles Q. Choi | LiveScience.com https://uk.news.yahoo.com/grisly-discovery-9-000-old-decapitated-skull-covered-185029863.html#fzlJi4T
Under limestone slabs in a cave in Brazil, scientists made a ghoulish
new discovery: a decapitated skull covered in amputated hands.
These 9,000-year-old bones may be evidence of the oldest known case of ritual beheading
in the New World, raising new questions as to how this grisly practice
began in the Americas, the researchers said in a new study.
Decapitation was likely common in the New World, according to the scientists. For example, in South America, heads of defeated enemies
were often used as war trophies — the Arara people in the Brazilian
Amazon used skulls of defeated enemies as musical instruments, the Inca
turned skulls into drinking jars, and the Jivaro people of Ecuador
shrunk heads to imprison the souls of foes. The Uru-Uru Chipaya people
in Bolivia also once employed skulls in modified Christian rituals, and
the Chimú culture in Peru incorporated decapitation as a standard
procedure in human sacrifices. [See photos of the 9,000-year-old decapitated skull and other remains]
"Few Amerindian habits impressed the European colonizers more than the
taking and displaying of human body parts, especially when decapitation
was involved," said study lead author André Strauss, an archaeologist
at the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology in Germany.
Now, scientists have discovered a case of ritual decapitation in Brazil that dates back about 9,000 years.
"This is the oldest case of decapitation found in the New World," Strauss told Live Science.
The scientists investigated an environmentally protected tropical region in east-central Brazil known as Lagoa Santa, which means "Holy Lake" in Portuguese. The area, which is covered in savanna-type vegetation as well as forests, was explored heavily in the 19th century by researchers looking for evidence of interactions between prehistoric humans and giant animals, such as saber-toothed cats and ground sloths.
The scientists focused on a site called Lapa do Santo, or "saint's rock shelter." It was here that the researchers previously found the oldest evidence of rock art in South America, which included pictures of penises, engraved on the bedrock there, that are about 9,400 years old.
Excavations at Lapa do Santo revealed signs of human occupation dating back about 12,000 years. Stone tools and animal bones found at the shelter suggest the prehistoric groups that lived there subsisted on plants they gathered and small and midsize animals they hunted.
In 2007, the researchers discovered 9,000-year-old fragments of human remains at Lapa do Santo, including a skull, jaw, the first six vertebrae of the neck and two severed hands. The bones were buried about 22 inches (55 centimeters) below the surface, under limestone slabs, which suggests they were part of a deliberate ritual entombment, the researchers said.
The amputated hands were laid palm-side down over the face of the skull, with the left hand pointing upward and covering the right side of the face, while the right hand pointed downward and covered the left side of the face. Until now, only relatively simple burials had been uncovered in Lagoa Santa, Strauss said.
In addition, the disembodied heads found in South America were typically discovered in the Andes mountain range, suggesting that decapitation began as an Andean practice. This new finding suggests that ritual beheading may have started elsewhere, the researchers said.
It remains unclear why this ritual decapitation at Lapa do Santo took place. The chemical nature and physical features of the bones suggest they came from a member of the group that lived there, the researchers said, meaning the body likely was not a war trophy of an outsider. Instead, the people at this site may have used these remains to express their ideas regarding death and the universe, Strauss said.
In the future, the researchers hope to extract and analyze DNA from the
remains, to learn more about the person the bones belonged to. The
scientists detailed their findings online today (Sept. 23) in the journal PLOS ONE.

New Type Of Mid-Sized Black Hole Found
by Jonathan O'Callaghan http://www.iflscience.com/space/new-type-mid-sized-black-hole-found-distant-galaxy

It's located in the NGC1313 galaxy (shown), 14 million light-years away. ESO.Black holes can be really, really big – supermassive, if you will – and they can also be quite small, relatively speaking. But do any exist between these two extremes? Finding evidence for such mid-sized black holes has been difficult until now.
But a new study published in Astrophysical Journal Letters has found evidence for such an intermediate-mass black hole, roughly 5,000 times the mass of the Sun. For comparison, supermassive black holes at the center of galaxies measure up to several billion times the Sun’s mass, while stellar mass black holes are just a few dozen times the mass of the Sun.
This latest discovery, by a team from the University of Maryland (UMD), adds to about a half-dozen other intermediate black hole candidates that had been found before. It has been named NGC1313X-1, found in the galaxy NGC1313 about 14 million light-years from Earth. It was found using data from ESA’s XMM-Newton satellite, which was able to spot the ultraluminous X-rays coming from the black hole.
"This result provides support to the idea that black holes exist on all size scales," said lead author Dheeraj Pasham, a postdoctoral associate at the Joint Space-Science Institute, a research partnership between UMD's Departments of Astronomy and Physics and NASA Goddard.
Some of this same team had found a similar black hole last year, weighing 400 times the mass of the Sun, using NASA’s Rossi X-ray Timing Explorer (RXTE) satellite. But Pasham said that subsequent findings like this are needed to confirm the new class of black hole. "When you describe something for the first time, there is always some doubt," he said. "Identifying a second candidate with a different instrument puts weight behind both findings and gives us confidence in our technique."
This black hole was also found to have a pair of repeating flares, one flashing 27.6 times per minute and the other 17.4 times per minute, a ratio of exactly 3:2. While the cause of these flashes of light is not known, the 3:2 ratio is thought to be common to similarly sized or smaller black holes.
In 2016, NASA is planning to launch a new X-ray telescope called the Neutron Star Interior Composition Explorer (NICER), which the team hope to use to study their new intermediate black hole candidate – and others – further.
Jack The Ripper -Sorry THAT Was it!
My brief post yesterday resulted in 20 emails asking for more details as well as names of the Bayswater people and who had the "Ripper File".
As I stated, I cannot and would not give the names of persons involved since they are no longer around and I gave an undertaking that everything to do with the AOP Bureau and those backing it would remain totally confidential.
Sorry if I raised some hopes. Quite honestly, I have no idea whether anyone has attempted to use the Freedom of Information Act or tried to get a court ruling on the file's release? The File is the only place you'll get any answers!

So, WHO Was "Jack The Ripper"?
Back in the 1970s/early 1980s, I became acquainted with a number of, shall we say "titled gentlemen" via the AOP Bureau.
On one occasion, as I was in a rather crowded Bayswater sitting room, I was taking papers from a briefcase to hand around -briefing notes on recent UFO sightings. The book I had read on the train about Jack The Ripper fell out.
"Ho-ho -I've read that one!" exclaimed one man pointing at the book. Another asked "Is it one of those silly 'a Royal dunnit' books?" The first replied: "No. Oddly enough!"
A conversation followed and the first man was asked by another (an RAF man): "Old -------- had copies of The Yard file with him in his study. Have you-?" The first: "Oh absolutely. No one named so far is in that file!"
It was mooted around that "The Yard File" would never be released. I then asked "Why is that?"
Silence.
The RAF man then looked at me and clipped his lips together between finger and thumb. I thought it a bit childish though I do recall laughing internally. After all, here we were talking UFOs and all sorts of things I had to treat as confidential yet a murder case closed in 1892 (?) was considered beyond discussion.
Oddly, the last of the surviving Bayswater people, "Maxie" who was Viscount something or other but went by the name "Maxie" (as several people told me: "Oh, everyone knows Maxie!") passed away a few years ago but I did once ask him about that day. "Well, those in the know know but it just simply is not the done thing to blab."
I was told, because Maxie was a big true crime buff with every book on the Ripper -including two in French and one in, I think, Spanish- thoroughly thumbed through that "the name" had never been revealed or mentioned by anyone up to that point.
Even documents under the Official Secrets Act get released after a certain period -Top Secret ones from World War 2 and even the Cold War period. So why is the file on a series of murders from 1888 still not open to public scrutiny? After all, anyone named has been dead a long time now, as are any of their children or grandchildren. There is, logically, no reason why the file should not be open to historians though I find it funny that a couple of people have suggested that the file was not released because "it went missing"!
This is how silly secrecy becomes.

Beware Astrologers -Mercury Retrograde: What does the apparent rotation reversal of Mercury mean?
Sean Martin, IBT https://uk.news.yahoo.com/mercury-retrograde-does-apparent-rotation-162954763.html#lrdsXG9
Mercury retrograde in
astrologers', and not astronomers', terms is when the planet of Mercury
appears to reverse its rotation. It was first thought this – now known
to be impossible – feat happened when astronomers of old believed that
the Earth, as is typical of human arrogance, was the centre of the
universe.
In astrological terms, Mercury is king. According to AstrologyZone.com: "Mercury rules all types of communication, including listening, speaking, learning, reading, editing, researching, negotiating, selling, and buying. Mercury also rules all formal contracts and agreements, as well as important documents such as book manuscripts or term papers, agreements, deeds, contracts, leases, wills, and so forth."
So, if you do believe in astrology, it means that when the planet is in retrograde, it is resting, and when Mercury rests and can't oversee the smooth ongoing of all that it is responsible for, carnage will occur... apparently. In fact, one is going on right now and will last from 17 September to 9 October.
However, as previously touched upon, this happens four times a year, and at one of these points your phone may have run out of battery or another coincidental mild inconvenience, but the pandemonium that is predicted is nothing short of make believe. Sorry to break it to you.
Dr. Rami Kaminski, professor of psychiatry at Columbia University, told International Business Times's US edition:
"I think that like most things it is a matter of context. If it adds
something to those who believe in it, then it is a positive thing.
"As conscious beings we have a
complex relationship with the time behind us and ahead of us. We rue the
past and fear the future. So anything that gives us some reassurance
(even a false one) about the future is potentially positive. So the
believer him or herself is not a problem. It is those who exploit others
who have this belief that are the problem, but that is another issue."

Astrologers and psychics -two groups that are bound to get me very angry: particularly psychics and their deceit. But, seriously, we are in the 21st Century -2015. Astrology??
